So about a month ago I went to the “Glee” exhibition at the Blum and Poe art Gallery, and it had a variety of pieces of work that coincide with many different types of art work that resembled the human iteration with sound texture, and the feel with mixture of media.

Here are some the Works:

50/50 The Movie

The movie was good and I give it a B. It talked about a mans journey and his experience with cancer and the changes that he has to overcome as a person. The movie brought both this comedic, romantic, and life situation into one body. It would definately be on my list to see on friday. so I suggest to go see it this weekend with a buddy. The movie has a whole lot of emotion and it is relatable at points into the movie.

Things about the movie:

Director: Jonathan Levine

Writer: Will Reiser

Main Characters: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogan, Anna kendrick, and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Well I just arrived at UCLA and it has been crazy. There has been so much going, but it is all exciting. This is going to be a new beginning in my life and hopefully it brings much wisdom. Can’t wait to start my new beginning out of the nest with much more freedom. Let my adulthood begin:)

Part of installation from street artists Os Gemeos.

This past monday I found myself surrounded by art in which I felt very fond of, may be because it’s not the traditional art people may think of to go see at a museum. “I could see this in the streets,” was a comment made by my brother and I agreed. Though people might think of graffiti/vandalism, when they think of this exhibition and might think of it as pointless, to me it isn’t. You learn so much about the origin of graffiti art and the differences between “street art” and “graffiti.” — Street Art: They make a point across, politically, or self expression of truth – Graffiti: tag to appear better than other gangs blah blah —  These are just my opinions..You go from history to present of this movement and it’s nice to see it showcased. This exhibition to me was significant, sure we might be able to see this type of art literally  in the streets and such but this exhibition signified their recognition and importance. There’s more to it than meets the eye.

So I came upon this image a while ago and fell in love with it! But with no name of the artist, I searched and searched as I craved to see more work like this and finally I found out: Su Blackwell.  Literature and art are both ways to communicate to society and I guess they are both an art form, in my opinion. Su Blackwell mixes it up with her work.  Her pieces are dreamy like, each telling a story. I appreciate her work very much because her pieces remind me of a collage but in a totally different way. Her work has definitely become some of my favorite.

Well for the past week I’ve been on a family vacation in Arizona. Yes, it has been a burning furnace for the past six days that I’ve been here, but I’ve survived so far. Today I did something that was amazing I rode on a hot air balloon, and it was amazing! The ride was very mellow and it was not rough at all once, you got about 6,000 feet above sea level it really cool down compared to the hot desert floor. You really get an amazing view of the beautiful desert, you also see a lot of wild life, which include coyotes, hawks and rabbits. It was a once in a life time experience. So if you’re ever in Arizona you should think about going on a hot air balloon ride, you will never forget the experience. Here are some pics…

This drink is the miracle drink, kombucha has been used over many centuries for medical purposes, it is said that it can heal many health problems, but due the small scientific reasearch on the drink there is no prof that it is the true healing drink. Overall the drink is good for you and it helps your body revitalize itself.  So next time you’re at Whole foods or Lassen remember to stop by the drink section and grab a bottle. Show your body that you love it by putting the right nutrients it needs.  -Steven

Just tried the new Very Berry Hibiscus refresher from Starbucks and it was amazing!  The drink had two scoops of black berry’s (which is my ultimate favorite berry), and it also had green coffee extract. To add it had a spicy, yet chai flavor to it. It was also very refreshing, great for a summer hot day. So I urge you next time that you’re at Starbucks ordering your regular Ice-blended drink, or whatever you may order, try the new iced-tea drink… step away from the routine and try something different.

Natalie Irish, is a unique artist that I came about a couple of days ago while I was surfing the web. The reason that stun me so much was her use of medium. What make’s Natalie so much special that any other artist I’ve seen is that she makes stunning portraits by using her lips. Her unique style of medium, is truly an inspiration. This just shows to prove that art is connection between the product and its conductor. To learn more about this artist you can visit her web page at http://www.natalieirish.com/.

My road trip to San Francisco was not only fun, exciting, and life changing, but it was also an eye opener to the great big world. I was able to learn about myself and was also able to learn about my two special friends Kiana and Cindy who were total strangers to me. Even though all the people who surrounded us told us that we were not going to make this trip because we were too young, but we proved them wrong. Yes, at times we did go through tough times like figuring out what we were going to eat because we did not enough food to eat or getting lost in the crazy streets of San Francisco, but we prove them wrong after our long week without no parents or help. Through this trip I was able to open myself to new ideas about people, and about trying new things that I would never think of doing. But at the end it was adult experience that will never be lost, but treasure for a lifetime. This picture on top with me(The one the left), Cindy(Middle) and Kiana(far Right) shows to prove that we survived and we made it. We figured that life is too short and we should grab it by the balls and make the best of it. We also decided that it was time to grow up and leave the nest, and it is time to start our lives. So let this not be our last trip but may life take us to new horizon, and let us hear the drum beat of life.
